Bernadette Peters (born Bernadette lazzara on February 28 1948) was an American actor, singer, and children's author who hails born in Ozone Park Queens New York . Her career spans five decades, and encompasses musical theatre, television concert performances, solo shows, as well as recording. She has been nominated for seven Tony Awards and won two and eight Drama Desk Awards. Four of the Broadway casting albums in which she's performed have won Grammy Awards.
